So, the overall size of the game won't actually impact performance very much with how modern open world games work by streaming assets while the player moves around the world, if implemented correctly, not counting storage space. ![]() I don’t know if you understand the feeling that I’m trying to convey, but if you do, what do you think we’ll have? And what would you prefer having? I need the same feeling of scale that I felt the first time I played Skyrim the world is so much bigger than I am, I am no different than the NPCs around me, I can enter almost every door, explore almost everything I see, I am a part of the world and I do not feel “bigger” than it is. ![]() I need this game, which we all dreamed of having for 20+ years, to make me feel small, minuscule, to immerse me completely. I would much prefer to have a small map with a huge (internal, vertical depth) Hogwarts, than a huge map (external, horizontal length) with a “standard suitable for gaming” size Hogwarts. I’m afraid that, due to the size of the map, therefore lack of resources, or other focuses, Hogwarts will not be as massive in scale as I dream it to be, as it actually is. I’ve always dreamed of exploring all the possible rooms, things, or places that are hiding behind every single window you can see when looking at Hogwarts from afar. Hogwarts, as envisioned by the movies (which inspired the game), it’s HUGE! It could possibly mean that Hogwarts won’t be 100% fully explorable and by that I mean every single door, room, floor, stair, location - everything! Even places that didn’t make into the movies or the books themselves. I’m really scared of the fact that the map is going to be quite large.
